A DAY OF JOY, LAUGHTER AND MAGIC FOR VARIETY KIDS
Variety – the Children’s Charity of WA’s annual Kids Christmas Party brings joy, festive cheer and lasting memories to kids in need.
Each year, Variety – the Children’s Charity of WA hosts its much-anticipated Kids Christmas Party, an event that brings joy, laughter and magic to children facing serious illness, disadvantage, or disability.
The annual gathering is an integral part of Variety WA’s mission to create a brighter holiday season for families who might otherwise struggle to enjoy accessible, affordable festive activities.
Chris Chatterton, CEO of Variety WA, said that many families with a child who has a disability or illness face significant additional costs for medical care, therapies and specialised equipment, which make it harder to provide the fun, memorable experiences that help make Christmas magical.
“Our Christmas party offers a chance for these families to simply enjoy being a family and for children to experience the joy of Christmas in a fun, inclusive setting,” Chris said.
Taking place at Outback Splash in Bullsbrook, the 2024 Variety Kids Christmas Party saw children and their families gather for a day packed with laughter, festive cheer and fun activities like face painting, games, and, of course, a special visit from Santa.
The event wouldn’t have been possible without the generous support of the community and the dedication of numerous volunteers — including a group from Perron Group and Toyota WA, who were invited to help wrap presents given to each and every child who attends the party.
Held at the charity’s offices in Burswood, the gift-wrapping day was a fun and festive event in its own right which helped ensure that Variety WA had plenty of presents to go around.
“We are incredibly grateful for the support of our corporate partners, like Perron Group and Toyota WA, whose efforts helped bring the holiday spirit to life for these children and their families,” said Chris.
“Their commitment, along with the generosity of the public, ensures that every child attending the event gets to take home a gift, and most importantly, a lasting memory of a joyful day.”
The Stan Perron Charitable Foundation is a long-time supporter of Variety – the Children’s Charity of WA and was proud to once again sponsor their Christmas Party in 2024.
Alongside donations made by the public through the Variety Christmas Appeal, the Foundation’s support helped ensure that more WA children and families could attend the party and experience the joy of the season.
For the families who attended, the event was also a rare opportunity to relax and connect with others in similar situations, while the kids were free to simply enjoy being kids.
