Elizabeth Perron AM honoured on Australia Day
"Award recognises Stan Perron's vision and work of beneficiaries", says Elizabeth.
Chair of the Stan Perron Charitable Foundation, Elizabeth Perron, said she was honoured and humbled to be a recipient of an Australia Day honour announced on Friday 26 January.
"It is such a great privilege, but for me, this is more a testament to the amazing vision of my Dad for setting up the Foundation in 1978," said Elizabeth.
"None of what the Foundation does today would be possible if it weren't for Dad's foresight but also his great business success and his desire to give generously for the benefit of others.
"As a philanthropist, Dad was in so many ways ahead of his time, and I am conscious that my role as Chair of the Foundation is to ensure his legacy is maintained and continues to make a positive difference".
Elizabeth also said she wanted to ensure that the many individuals, health researchers, and community groups supported by the Foundation are acknowledged for their incredible work.
"They are the true heroes, and I want to take this opportunity to pay tribute to them all.
"The Foundation's beneficiaries include families through to large institutions, and no matter how big or small the amount of funding is, it's more about the ongoing impact and the outcomes achieved.”
